Saint George Island

What is St. George? St. George Island is a 27 mile long barrier island between Panama City and Tallahassee. St. George Island is an island off the Florida Panhandle in the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is in Franklin County, Florida, United States. It is paradise on a barrier island, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and the Apalachicola Bay. Pristine white-sand beaches, calming ocean waves, uncongested natural beauty.

It is a fisherman’s dream. Sheepshead, speckled trout, flounder, whiting, redfish, shark and tripletail in the bay; snapper, grouper, amberjack, sea bass, mackerel, mahi-mahi, cobia and sharks in the gulf. Cast a rod from the shore, mine the flats, or head out to sea! Stock up at local bait and tackle shops. Take your own boat or book a charter.

Seafood galore. The best oysters in the world; steamed, grilled, in chowder and bisque, or simply on the half shell. Shrimp any way you want it. Prepare your own meal or sample the delicacies at the local bar / grill or nearby restaurant. Or be casual with pizza or subs and an ice cream treat.
